The COVID-19 & Childhood Diabetes Team is based at the Department of Pediatrics, McMaster University and McMaster Children’s Hospital, Hamilton Health Sciences, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The early steps in setting up this platform were supported by the Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation.
Our goal is to inform children and adolescents with diabetes and their families about the latest information related to the COVID-19 pandemic and how does this virus affect diabetes and its management. We are gathering, synthesizing, and will be providing information through daily searches of the scientific literature and other credible sources including Diabetes Canada, JDRF, International Society of Pediatric & Adolescent Diabetes, American Diabetes Association, the Center for Disease Control & Prevention, UNICEF, and the World Health Organization. We will also report information from the Government of Canada in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
