It is important to clean your hands using soap and water frequently, especially before eating and after being in public. This helps get rid of the virus.

If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.1

Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.1 It is in fact important that you avoid touching your face at any point because the main way the virus gets into the body is by finding its way to our mouth, eye, and nose.1
