Clean and Disinfect Surfaces

Clean and Disinfect Surfaces

Evidence suggests that the COVID-19 virus can live on objects and surfaces from a few hours to days.1

You may use regular household cleaners or diluted bleach to wipe surfaces.2

Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces daily in common household areas (e.g. tables, hard-backed chairs, doorknobs, light switches, remotes, handles, desks, toilets, sinks).2 Put washable fabric toys in the laundry, as appropriate.

If possible, wash items using the warmest appropriate water setting and dry items completely. Dirty laundry from an ill person can be washed with other people’s items.1
