Extreme heat can impact children with diabetes. Some tips for preparing for extreme heat this summer include:
- Being informed of local weather forecasts and alerts,
- Knowing the signs/symptoms of heat illness (e.g. dizziness and nausea),
- Drinking plenty of liquids (e.g. water),
- Staying cool (e.g. taking cool showers)
