Extreme heat can impact children with diabetes. Some tips for preparing for extreme heat this summer include:

  • Being informed of local weather forecasts and alerts,
  • Knowing the signs/symptoms of heat illness (e.g. dizziness and nausea),
  • Drinking plenty of liquids (e.g. water),
  • Staying cool (e.g. taking cool showers)

Please follow guidelines of local public health authorities to stay cool during the COVID-19 pandemic.
