In areas with community transmission, WHO advises that medical masks are worn by those over 60 years old or underlying medical conditions where physical distancing is not possible.

Non-medical fabric masks should consist of at least three layers of different materials. Masks are not a replacement for physical distancing, hand hygiene practices, and other strategies to prevent the spread.
